From The National CEO - November Update

  Thursday 25th November, 2021

Let’s Go!

It’s a blessing to see what God is doing through our SU family in Victoria—and by family I mean our talented and faithful staff, volunteers, and supporters. Thank you for our ongoing partnership through this challenging year. Through your prayers, finances, and involvement we are overcoming our challenges together, and God is doing amazing things.

We’re seeing growth in local missions and camps, with 30 missions and six holiday camps planning to engage children, young people, and families in locations around Victoria over summer.

There’s great news from Camp Coolamatong with school camps returning from the beginning of November and strong interest in Coola’s Internship Program for 2022. The future is bright!

SU’s School Chaplaincy Programs continue to grow in Victoria. Of the 52 primary, secondary and specialist schools with an SU chaplain, one-third are new schools this year! Our chaplains have been selflessly serving in schools, supporting students, staff and families through extended lockdowns - examples of God’s love in action.

Looking to the coming two years, our strategic focus will be on unifying our national movement under a single vision and brand (more on that in the New Year); mobilising people in more communities to share God’s love and Good News, and giving more children, young people and their families opportunities to discover life in God’s big story.

In each SU region across Australia the outworking of this strategy will differ, according to local needs. Backed and supported by a unified national movement, and tens of thousands of big-hearted Australians like you who share our heart for the next generation.

The future is exciting. I’m so grateful for your partnership. Please pray for us as we pray for you too.
On behalf of our SU, ChildSafe and Generate family across Australia, I wish you a safe, blessed and merry Christmas.
